La folie du FestiVoix – Jour 7

La journée rock/métal du FestiVoix a attiré beaucoup plus de festivaliers que je ne l’aurais cru. En effet, cette journée, qui accueillait Angine de Poitrine, Papa Roach, We Came As Romans, Deadly Apples et Peer Pressure, a brassé les corps sans crier gare.

Le spectacle de Peer Pressure se déroulait à l’extérieur du site officiel. Une ingénieuse initiative, puisque cette partie du site présente plusieurs spectacles gratuits au fil des jours, offrant ainsi une belle visibilité aux artistes qui y performent. Le groupe de deathcore débordait d’énergie malgré la chaleur et a su la transmettre à son public. Même certains artistes internationaux ont apprécié leur prestation! Le soleil plombait, mais ne pouvait empêcher Victoria Mladenovski et ses musiciens de faire vibrer la place. Une belle découverte pour plusieurs! D’ailleurs, une entrevue paraîtra sous peu.

Deadly Apples est arrivé sur la scène principale avec une entrée remarquée. Rien d’étonnant pour le groupe d’Alex Martel : ils savent se faire remarquer. Leur style a attiré une belle foule, réceptive et déjà bien entassée devant la scène. Malheureusement, je n’ai assisté qu’à un seul morceau, mais ça brassait pas mal. Les gens étaient obnubilés par le visuel que le groupe sait offrir. D’ailleurs, pour ceux qui ne les connaissent pas encore très bien, une entrevue menée par mon collègue Gabriel Landry paraîtra également dans quelques jours. Une chose est sûre : ils ont lancé la soirée avec une force brute.

DEADLY APPLES

We Came As Romans n’a pas besoin d’un visuel époustouflant pour attirer les gens. Leur énergie contagieuse et leurs refrains rassembleurs suffisent à faire en sorte que ce groupe nous colle à la peau durant tout un spectacle. Alternant entre les vieux classiques et des morceaux du nouvel album, ils ont offert toute une performance.

WE CAME AS ROMANS

Est-ce juste moi ou Papa Roach donne TOUJOURS un spectacle complètement fou? Okay, je suis une grande fan, je l’avoue, mais il me semble que ce band-là ne m’a jamais déçue en spectacle. Cette fois-ci, la place était pleine à craquer et j’ai réalisé qu’il y avait énormément de nouveaux fans : des gens qui chantaient les chansons des derniers albums encore plus fort que celles des premiers. J’ai alors réalisé que ce groupe vieillissait vraiment bien.

Comme à son habitude, Jacoby Shaddix est descendu dans la foule à la rencontre des milliers de fans et il a même interrompu le spectacle à la suite d’un incident dans le mosh pit. Le chanteur a également partagé un magnifique moment en famille en interprétant quelques morceaux avec ses deux fils. C’était d’une beauté hallucinante. Ils ont su clore les festivités de la soirée en beauté.

Bref, le Festivoix de Trois-Rivières rassemble les plus grands amateurs de musique d’un genre à l’autre, aucun style n’est mis de côté. Il y en a pour tous les goûts!

Festivoix Madness – Day 7

The rock/metal day at Festivoix drew far more festivalgoers than I expected. Featuring Angine de Poitrine, Papa Roach, We Came As Romans, Deadly Apples, and Peer Pressure, the day got bodies moving from start to finish.

Peer Pressure performed outside the official festival grounds. It was a clever initiative, as this section of the site hosts several free shows throughout the festival, giving great exposure to the artists performing there. Despite the heat, the deathcore band was overflowing with energy and successfully passed it on to the crowd. Even some international artists enjoyed their performance! The blazing sun couldn’t stop Victoria Mladenovski and her band from shaking the place. A great discovery for many! An interview with the band will also be published soon.

Deadly Apples took over the main stage with a memorable entrance. No surprise there for Alex Martel‘s band—they know how to make an impression. Their style attracted a strong crowd, already packed tightly in front of the stage. Unfortunately, I only caught one song, but things were already getting pretty wild. The audience was captivated by the visual experience the band is known for. For those who aren’t too familiar with them yet, an interview conducted by my colleague Gabriel Landry will also be published in the coming days. One thing is certain: they kicked off the evening with brute force.

We Came As Romans don’t need flashy visuals to draw a crowd. Their contagious energy and anthemic choruses are enough to stick with you long after the show is over. Alternating between old classics and songs from their latest album, they delivered one outstanding performance.

Is it just me, or does Papa Roach ALWAYS put on a completely insane show? Okay, I’m a huge fan, I admit it, but I honestly don’t think this band has ever disappointed me live. This time, the venue was absolutely packed, and I realized there were so many new fans—people singing the songs from the latest albums even louder than the early hits. That’s when I realized this band has truly aged incredibly well.

As always, Jacoby Shaddix jumped into the crowd to connect with the thousands of fans, and he even stopped the show after an incident in the mosh pit. The singer also shared a beautiful family moment by performing a few songs with his two sons. It was absolutely breathtaking. They closed out the evening’s festivities in spectacular fashion.

In short, Festivoix in Trois-Rivières brings together music lovers from every corner of the musical spectrum. No genre is left behind. There’s something for everyone.
