Le troisième jour du Festival Au Lac est maintenant ON.THE.WAY!
Marc-André Provost: Débutant sous la pluie à l’ouverture des portes, nous sommes chanceux car elle cesse rapidement une fois rendus on site, mais ça sera intermittent durant toute la journée. Par contre, ça ne ralentira personne car, dès le début de la performance de BLANK, ça se transforme en battlefield devant la scène. Gandalf, Austin Power, Yoshi et plusieurs autres se chamaillent alors que le sol se transforme en patinoire de bouette. Excusez mon expression, mais tab*rnak que Blank, ça déménage!
J’avais écouté leur album dans les semaines précédant le fest au gym et j’adore leur style! Pure F*cking Hardcore! La pluie n’a aucunement arrêté le moshpit et ce fut un vrai party de plaisir du début à la fin. Avec en plus le chanteur de Basterds et de Truth Be Cold. Pour vrai, leur performance était juste diabolique. Avec des chansons comme Bark Loud, Warpath et Pain, Blank se solidifie comme un nouveau monument du hardcore au Québec! Coup de cœur pour Coco Bongo! Juste 10/10.
BLANK
Molly Caisse-Vee: Deadly Apples : Une entrée bien remarquée avec une fumée rouge qui tapissait l’air. Évidemment, avec la pluie torrentielle qui est survenue au milieu de leur set, plusieurs festivaliers ont trouvé un abri. On pouvait voir le plaisir que le groupe avait sur scène, Alex Martel et ses musiciens sautaient d’un bord à l’autre de la scène, eux, la pluie, ne leur faisait pas peur.
DEADLY APPLES
Molly Caisse-Vee: Pain Of Truth : Le genre de groupe que je n’écoute pas chez nous, mais que j’adore en spectacle. Ô que c’était lourd, ce qui annonçait la première partie d’une suite de groupes brutaux. C’est à ce moment d’ailleurs que le soleil a décidé de se pointer le bout du nez, à notre plus grand soulagement. Les musiciens vivait le moment de leur vie et entrainaient avec eux chaque individu. C’est ce groupe qui a ramené une foule en délire en tapon vers l’avant.
PAIN OF TRUTH
Marc-André Provost: Enfin, c’est l’heure du groupe que j’attendais le plus en cette drôle de troisième journée du Festival au Lac : Terror, directement de Los Angeles, en Californie!
Malheureusement, Scott Vogel s’est cassé plusieurs côtes il y a deux jours et c’est un autre membre du groupe qui assure le chant aujourd’hui, en plus de célébrer son anniversaire! Je crois avoir entendu le nom de Chris?! Sur scène, plusieurs membres se sont partagé le micro et, à plusieurs reprises, celui-ci s’est même retrouvé dans la foule. Autant les gros classiques comme Spit My Rage, Overcome et Keep Your Mouth Shut que le nouveau matériel, notamment Still Suffer, ont frappé très fort sur le terrain du Festival au Lac!
Peu importe le sol inégal et cabossé, le moshpit était tout simplement INSANE. Two-step et karaté étaient évidemment au rendez-vous, et je suis plus qu’heureux d’avoir vécu ma meilleure vie sur la barrière pendant toute la durée de leur prestation. Terror demeure le genre de groupe qu’il ne faut jamais manquer et, encore aujourd’hui, ils ont prouvé leur domination à Granby. J’ai déjà hâte de les revoir, car chaque performance est incomparable et incontournable. Un spectacle d’une violence absolue et incontestable.
TERROR
Molly Caisse-Vee : Brand Of Sacrifice : Vous vouliez un band qui déchire l’air? Brand Of Sacrifice a été là pour vous servir avec énergie et lourdeur. Tout le monde tapait du pied et se battait avec l’air afin de se défouler, même le responsable des boissons rafraichissantes et alcoolisées était dans le pit à kicker des pieds. Le bassdrum était hallucinant. Ce que j’aime aussi de ce groupe, c’est qu’il arrive de Toronto, j’aime bien découvrir les groupes de chez nous. Petit bémol cependant : les transitions entre les morceaux étaient silencieuses, un peu trop à mon gout, ce qui, évidemment, n’enlève rien à leur performance du tonnerre.
BRAND OF SACRIFICE
Marc-André Provost: The Ghost Inside: Oh my God! Que dire de la performance de The Ghost Inside? J’avais tellement hâte de les revoir en spectacle que, dès les premières notes de Going Under, je me suis immédiatement faufilé jusqu’aux barricades. Pendant tout le concert, j’ai vécu ma meilleure vie, entouré de festivaliers qui, tout comme moi, ont chanté à pleins poumons chaque parole du groupe originaire de Los Angeles.
Évidemment, ce sont les chansons tirées des trois premiers albums qui m’ont le plus marqué. Entendre des pièces comme Faith or Forgiveness, Between the Lines et l’incontournable Engine 45, utilisée comme finale, était tout simplement magique. Chaque morceau provoquait une réaction instantanée de la foule, créant une ambiance électrisante du début à la fin.
Un moment particulièrement cocasse est survenu lorsque le chanteur Jonathan Vigil a demandé à la foule quel était le score du match de hockey entre les Golden Knights de Vegas et les Hurricanes de la Caroline. Revenant sur la défaite de nos Glorieux, il nous a même offert quelques mots de compassion, ce qui a bien fait rire les festivaliers.
Une chose était évidente : le groupe était sincèrement heureux d’être de retour en sol québécois. Cette énergie et cette gratitude se ressentaient tout au long de leur prestation. Entre les sourires, les interactions avec la foule et l’intensité de leur performance, The Ghost Inside nous a offert un spectacle mémorable qui est venu confirmer, une fois de plus, tout l’amour que le Québec porte à cette formation. Une prestation puissante, émotive et rassembleuse qui restera assurément parmi les grands moments de cette édition du Festival au Lac.
THE GHOST INSIDE
Marc-André Provost : Jinjer : Malheureusement, toute bonne chose a une fin, et c’est avec les excellents Ukrainiens de Jinjer que se termine cette édition 2026 du Festival au Lac.
J’adore Jinjer et je considère que Tatiana Shmayluk est l’une des chanteuses les plus talentueuses de la scène metal actuelle. Cependant, je dois avouer que The Ghost Inside a tout simplement volé la vedette un peu plus tôt dans la soirée. La différence entre les deux formations réside surtout dans leur approche musicale : Jinjer propose un metal moderne beaucoup plus agressif, technique et complexe, tandis que The Ghost Inside mise davantage sur des refrains rassembleurs qui permettent à des centaines de festivaliers de chanter d’une seule voix. Dans le cas de Jinjer, l’expérience est différente, mais tout aussi impressionnante.
Cela n’a absolument rien enlevé à la qualité de leur prestation. Le groupe nous a offert un concert mémorable, porté par une intensité constante et un visuel particulièrement soigné qui ajoutait une dimension presque hypnotique à leur performance. Même si je suis un grand amateur de leur musique, je ne connais malheureusement pas assez bien leur répertoire pour vous dresser une liste précise des morceaux interprétés. Une chose est toutefois certaine : le parterre n’a jamais cessé de s’animer, et les festivaliers ont continué de brasser jusqu’à la toute dernière note de cette grande finale.
Et quelle finale! Époustouflante, puissante et parfaitement à la hauteur de trois jours remplis de musique, de découvertes et de moments inoubliables.
J’aimerais également prendre un instant pour souligner l’excellent travail de toute l’organisation du Festival au Lac, qui nous a encore une fois permis de vivre une expérience exceptionnelle. Merci à The Well Done Productions, aux bénévoles, aux techniciens, aux employés et à toutes les personnes qui travaillent dans l’ombre afin de rendre un tel événement possible.
J’ai vécu trois jours de pur bonheur, d’émotions intenses et de souvenirs que je vais chérir pendant très longtemps. Que vous soyez amateur de punk, de ska, d’emo, de metal, de hardcore ou de deathcore, il y a une place pour vous au Festival au Lac. C’est d’ailleurs cette diversité musicale et cette ambiance unique qui font tout le charme de ce festival que j’affectionne tant.

Day Three of Festival Au Lac Is Now ON.THE.WAY!
Marc-André Provost: Starting under the rain as the gates opened, we were lucky because it quickly stopped once we got on site, although it would remain intermittent throughout the day. However, that wasn’t going to slow anyone down because, from the very beginning of BLANK‘s performance, the area in front of the stage turned into a battlefield. Gandalf, Austin Powers, Yoshi, and several others were playfully battling while the ground transformed into a muddy skating rink. Excuse my language, but holy sh*t, BLANK absolutely rips!
I had listened to their album during my gym sessions in the weeks leading up to the festival and I love their style. Pure F*cking Hardcore! The rain did absolutely nothing to stop the mosh pit, and it was one hell of a party from start to finish. Having the vocalists from Basterds and Truth Be Cold join in was an added bonus. Honestly, their performance was downright diabolical. With songs like « Bark Loud », « Warpath », and « Pain », BLANK is solidifying itself as a new hardcore monument in Quebec. Special mention to « Coco Bongo ». Simply 10/10.
Molly Caisse-Vee: Deadly Apples: A highly noticeable entrance with red smoke filling the air. Of course, when the torrential rain hit in the middle of their set, many festivalgoers sought shelter. You could clearly see how much fun the band was having on stage. Alex Martel and his musicians were jumping from one side of the stage to the other. As for the rain, it certainly didn’t scare them.
Molly Caisse-Vee: Pain Of Truth: The kind of band I don’t really listen to at home but absolutely love live. It was so incredibly heavy, setting the tone for the first part of a lineup filled with brutal bands. This was also the moment when the sun finally decided to show up, much to everyone’s relief. The musicians were living the moment of their lives and pulling every single person into it with them. This was the band that brought a wild crowd surging back toward the front.
Marc-André Provost: Finally, it was time for the band I had been waiting for the most on this unusual third day of Festival Au Lac: Terror, straight from Los Angeles, California!
Unfortunately, Scott Vogel broke several ribs two days ago, so another member handled the vocals today while also celebrating his birthday. I think I heard the name Chris?! On stage, several members shared vocal duties and, on multiple occasions, the microphone even ended up in the crowd. Whether it was classic songs like « Spit My Rage », « Overcome », and « Keep Your Mouth Shut » or newer material such as « Still Suffer », everything hit incredibly hard on the Festival Au Lac grounds.
No matter how uneven and battered the terrain was, the mosh pit was simply INSANE. Two-stepping and hardcore karate were obviously on full display, and I couldn’t have been happier spending the entire set living my best life against the barricade. Terror remains the type of band you simply cannot miss and, once again, they proved their dominance in Granby. I already can’t wait to see them again because every performance is unique and essential. A show of absolute and undeniable violence.
Molly Caisse-Vee: Brand Of Sacrifice: Looking for a band that tears the air apart? Brand Of Sacrifice delivered exactly that with overwhelming energy and heaviness. Everyone was stomping, swinging at the air, and letting loose. Even the person in charge of the beverage stand was in the pit throwing kicks. The bass drum sound was absolutely insane. One thing I love about this band is that they come from Toronto. I always enjoy discovering bands from our own backyard. My only small complaint would be the silent transitions between songs, which were a bit too long for my taste. That being said, it takes absolutely nothing away from their thunderous performance.
Marc-André Provost: The Ghost Inside: Oh my God! What can I even say about The Ghost Inside’s performance? I had been looking forward to seeing them again so much that, from the very first notes of « Going Under », I immediately made my way to the barricade. Throughout the entire concert, I was living my best life, surrounded by festivalgoers who, just like me, sang every word from the Los Angeles band at the top of their lungs.
Naturally, it was the songs from the band’s first three albums that impacted me the most. Hearing tracks such as « Faith or Forgiveness », « Between the Lines », and the essential « Engine 45 », used as the closing song, was simply magical. Every track triggered an instant reaction from the crowd, creating an electrifying atmosphere from beginning to end.
One particularly funny moment occurred when vocalist Jonathan Vigil asked the crowd for the score of the hockey game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Carolina Hurricanes. Referring to the Canadiens’ defeat, he even offered a few words of sympathy, which got a great laugh from the audience.
One thing was obvious: the band was genuinely happy to be back in Quebec. That energy and gratitude could be felt throughout their entire performance. Through smiles, crowd interaction, and the sheer intensity of their set, The Ghost Inside delivered a memorable show that once again confirmed just how much Quebec loves this band. A powerful, emotional, and unifying performance that will undoubtedly remain one of the highlights of this year’s Festival Au Lac.
Marc-André Provost: Jinjer: Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and it was with the excellent Ukrainian band Jinjer that the 2026 edition of Festival Au Lac came to a close.
I love Jinjer and consider Tatiana Shmayluk to be one of the most talented vocalists in today’s metal scene. However, I must admit that The Ghost Inside had stolen the spotlight a little earlier in the evening. The main difference between the two bands lies in their musical approach: Jinjer delivers a much more aggressive, technical, and complex style of modern metal, while The Ghost Inside relies more heavily on massive singalong choruses that allow hundreds of festivalgoers to sing together as one. In Jinjer’s case, the experience is different, but equally impressive.
That did absolutely nothing to diminish the quality of their performance. The band delivered a memorable concert fueled by constant intensity and a particularly well-crafted visual production that added an almost hypnotic dimension to the show. Even though I am a huge fan of their music, I unfortunately don’t know their catalog well enough to provide a detailed list of the songs performed. One thing is certain: the crowd never stopped moving, and festivalgoers kept moshing until the very last note of this grand finale.
And what a finale it was! Breathtaking, powerful, and perfectly worthy of three days filled with music, discoveries, and unforgettable moments.
I would also like to take a moment to highlight the outstanding work of the entire Festival Au Lac organization, which once again allowed us to experience something truly exceptional. Thank you to The Well Done Productions, the volunteers, technicians, staff members, and everyone working behind the scenes to make an event like this possible.
I experienced three days of pure happiness, intense emotions, and memories that I will cherish for a very long time. Whether you are a fan of punk, ska, emo, metal, hardcore, or deathcore, there is a place for you at Festival Au Lac. It is this musical diversity and unique atmosphere that make this festival so special and so dear to me.
