Montréal, 16 août 2025 – Petit Campus
Le Petit Campus accueillait samedi soir une soirée toute spéciale pour la scène metal/hardcore montréalaise. Le groupe Outlier y lançait son tout nouveau EP In A Room Full Of Broken Glass devant un public réceptif et survolté.
La soirée a débuté avec Louvre, qui a bien mis la table avec une prestation énergique et directe. Pour un groupe qui se produit très peu, Louvre m’en a mis plein le visage!
LOUVRE
BLANK a ensuite poursuivi dans la même veine, offrant un set solide et intense. Avec des riffs percutants et des breakdowns ravageurs, ils ont conquis mon cœur de metalleux. Le groupe continue d’ailleurs à faire la promotion de son plus récent album de 12 titres, The Descent, ancré dans la tradition du hardcore métallique et du beatdown.

Le troisième groupe, Sudden Waves, a su hausser encore d’un cran le niveau d’énergie dans la salle, préparant parfaitement le terrain pour le moment fort attendu de la soirée. Le groupe a d’ailleurs enrichi son arsenal au cours des derniers mois avec la sortie des singles Powerslide et Sense of Touch, deux pièces qui traduisent bien leur intensité et leur approche moderne du hardcore.
SUDDEN WAVES
Finalement, Outlier est monté sur scène pour présenter son nouveau matériel. Le quatuor a livré une performance explosive et en a profité pour lancer officiellement son EP In A Room Full Of Broken Glass. Une sortie percutante de 7 titres qui confirme la place du groupe dans le post-hardcore montréalais. Outlier venait également de lancer son tout nouveau single et vidéoclip Blood on the Clock’s Hands, qui s’ajoute à cette nouvelle étape marquante de leur parcours.
OUTLIER
L’atmosphère, à la fois intime et remplie d’action, a contribué à faire de ce lancement une réussite! Ce fut une soirée où l’énergie brute et l’authenticité ont été au rendez-vous, et qui confirme une fois de plus la vitalité de la scène metal/hardcore montréalaise.
Un immense merci à tous les groupes pour leur énergie, et plus particulièrement à Outlier pour avoir rendu ce moment possible.

Petit Campus hosted a very special night for the Montreal metal/hardcore scene on Saturday. Outlier officially launched their brand-new EP In A Room Full Of Broken Glass in front of a receptive and fired-up crowd.
The evening kicked off with Louvre, who set the tone with an energetic and straightforward performance. For a band that doesn’t play live very often, Louvre really hit hard!
BLANK then followed in the same vein, delivering a solid and intense set. With crushing riffs and devastating breakdowns, they won over my metalhead heart. The band continues to promote their latest 12-track album, The Descent, rooted in metallic hardcore and beatdown tradition.
The third band, Sudden Waves, pushed the energy in the room up yet another notch, setting the perfect stage for the night’s most anticipated moment. In recent months, the band has expanded its arsenal with the release of the singles Powerslide and Sense of Touch, two tracks that perfectly capture their intensity and modern approach to hardcore.
Finally, Outlier took the stage to present their new material. The quartet delivered an explosive performance and officially launched their EP In A Room Full Of Broken Glass. This hard-hitting 7-track release confirms the band’s place in Montreal’s post-hardcore scene. Outlier had also just released their brand-new single and music video Blood on the Clock’s Hands, adding even more weight to this new chapter in their journey.
The atmosphere, both intimate and action-packed, helped make this release show a true success! It was an evening where raw energy and authenticity shone brightly, once again confirming the vitality of Montreal’s metal/hardcore scene.
