Bring Me The Horizon – Une ascension programmée sur mesure
Le Centre Bell n’était pas seulement rempli à craquer le 29 avril dernier, il vibrait. Et moi, je vivais le meilleur spectacle que j’ai vu de ma vie : Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White, The Plot In You et Amira Elfeky ont charmé toute la salle.

Amira Elfeky, artiste émergente depuis 2023, a commencé le spectacle en douceur avec des morceaux qui nous berçaient comme une vague réconfortante. C’est en finissant son set qu’elle nous a montré ses talents de scream afin de nous préparer pour le prochain band. Une découverte charmante pour ceux qui veulent sortir des groupes classiques féminins.
The Plot In You ont toujours été excellents pour partir une foule. Encore ce soir, le groupe a assuré avec des screams déchirants et des morceaux lourds à souhait question de partir un pit digne de ce nom. Dès les premiers riffs de guitare, le pit a explosé, les gens étaient prêts à les recevoir.
Motionless In White, eux, ont débarqué avec une setlist connue de tous, qui bouge et qui rentre dedans. Le tout parsemé d’une bonne dose d’amour grâce aux morceaux Another Life et Eternally Yours, ce contraste entre violence et émotion les définit à merveille. À cet égard, les BLEGH nous rendaient fous, une montée d’énergie parfaite avant l’arrivée de la tête d’affiche. D’ailleurs, Chris Motionless a mentionné pendant le spectacle que le nouvel album allait sortir d’ici la fin de l’année et qu’il allait revenir très bientôt.

L’attente fut rapide, mais le tease juste avant que Bring Me The Horizon débarque sur scène était interminable. Quoique, divertissant. En effet, grâce à un code QR, un jeu téléphonique et de bons visuels, le groupe a caché des références de jeux vidéo comme Metal Gear Solid et Resident Evil dans un jeu inventé dans le but de rendre l’attente moins pénible. La foule se demandait de quoi il s’agissait jusqu’à ce que des séquences dudit jeu se mettent à défiler à l’écran. Dans mon cas, j’appréciais ce changement, cette distraction, mais j’étais plus qu’impatiente de voir ce qui se trouvait derrière ce rideau noir et rouge qui cachait la scène.
Je suis BMTH depuis leur tout début. J’ai suivi toutes leurs phases et pourtant, je crois que cette polyvalence qu’a le groupe de se promener d’un genre à l’autre fait en sorte que je les aime encore plus. Sans compter que leurs performances sont tout simplement flamboyantes et ce soir ne faisait pas exception.
Tout y était. L’énergie, les effets visuels, la pyrotechnie, les confettis (quatre fois plutôt qu’une) et j’en passe.

Le groupe a livré une setlist solide de 17 chansons, oscillant entre nouveautés comme Kool-Aid et YOUtopia, et classiques incontournables tels que Shadow Moses et Can You Feel My Heart. Chaque morceau semblait amplifier la foule, transformant le parterre en une mer humaine en mouvement constant.
Personnellement, Follow You et Lost m’ont gagné. L’émotion de l’une et le côté moderne de l’autre m’ont fait vivre des émotions fortes passant des larmes à la danse, sans compter que j’ai crié chaque parole, de chaque morceau, sans exception.
D’ailleurs durant Antivist, le band a fait monter une fêtée sur la scène afin qu’elle puisse profiter d’une performance aux côtés d’Oli Sykes. Solide performance en passant! Lorsque le chanteur a annoncé cette partie, la foule était dans tous ses états, plusieurs personnes VOULAIENT être l’élu pour ce moment marquant.
Et… Avez-vous vu le pit de ce show-là? Je veux dire, on peut dire que le band s’est adouci, mais leurs fans n’ont clairement pas reçu le mémo, il était IMMENSE, et ce, dès The Plot In You. À la fin, celui-ci prenait toute une ampleur, allant de l’avant vers l’arrière, repoussant ceux et celles qui ne voulaient pas en faire partie vers les extrémités.
Bref, si BMTH avait une mission ce soir-là, elle était simple : prouver qu’ils sont au sommet. Mission accomplie… je suis sortie de cette salle en dépression post show, mais avec des billets pour Ottawa, je suis prête, et vous?

Bring Me The Horizon – A Perfectly Programmed Ascension
The Bell Centre wasn’t just packed on April 29, it was vibrating. And for me, I was experiencing the best show I’ve ever seen in my life: Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White, The Plot In You and Amira Elfeky completely captivated the entire venue.
Amira Elfeky, an emerging artist since 2023, opened the night softly with songs that rocked us like a comforting wave. It was at the end of her set that she showcased her screaming abilities, perfectly preparing us for the next band. A charming discovery for anyone looking to move beyond the usual female-fronted groups.
The Plot In You have always been excellent at igniting a crowd. Once again, the band delivered crushing screams and heavy tracks powerful enough to start a proper pit. From the very first guitar riffs, the pit exploded, people were more than ready for them.
Motionless In White, meanwhile, arrived with a setlist everyone knew, full of energy and hard-hitting moments. The whole thing was balanced with a dose of emotion through songs like Another Life and Eternally Yours. That contrast between violence and emotion defines them perfectly. And those BLEGHs? Absolutely insane. The perfect energy boost before the headliner took the stage. By the way, Chris Motionless mentioned during the show that the new album would be released before the end of the year and that they would be coming back very soon.

The wait was short, but the tease before Bring Me The Horizon finally appeared on stage felt endless. Entertaining, though. Through a QR code, a mobile game and impressive visuals, the band hid references to video games like Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil inside a fictional game created to make the wait more enjoyable. The crowd kept wondering what was going on until gameplay sequences started appearing on the giant screen. Personally, I appreciated the change and the distraction, but I was still beyond impatient to see what was hiding behind that massive black and red curtain covering the stage.
I’ve followed BMTH since the very beginning. I’ve gone through every era with them, and honestly, I think their ability to jump from one genre to another is exactly why I love them even more. Not to mention that their performances are simply spectacular, and tonight was no exception.
Everything was there. The energy, the visuals, the pyrotechnics, the confetti (four times, no less) and so much more.
The band delivered a solid 17-song setlist, moving between newer tracks like Kool-Aid and YOUtopia, and essential classics such as Shadow Moses and Can You Feel My Heart. Every song seemed to amplify the crowd even more, transforming the floor into a constantly moving human ocean.
Personally, Follow You and Lost completely won me over. The emotion of one and the modern edge of the other made me experience intense feelings, going from tears to dancing, while screaming every single lyric to every song without exception.
During Antivist, the band even brought a birthday girl on stage so she could enjoy a performance alongside Oli Sykes. And honestly? She killed it. The second the singer announced that moment, the crowd completely lost it, everyone wanted to be the chosen one for such a memorable experience.
And… did you see the pit at this show? I mean, people can say the band softened their sound, but their fans clearly never got the memo. The pit was MASSIVE, starting as early as The Plot In You’s set. By the end of the night, it had grown so large it stretched from the front all the way to the back, pushing anyone who didn’t want to be involved toward the edges.
In the end, if BMTH had one mission that night, it was simple: prove they’re at the top. Mission accomplished… I left the venue with post-show depression, but also with tickets for Ottawa. I’m ready, are you?
