Quel line-up intéressant!

Mon verdict? Une claque sur la queue!
Je me suis dit…

Voici mes photos du show!

MASTODON, finally headlining
I’d seen Mastodon several times, but too often as a special guest. They played with Slayer and Ghost the last few times I saw them. So you could be sure you’d find me at MTELUS, especially since they brought Alcest and… Deafheaven along! What an interesting lineup!
I saw Alcest for the first time last year at Beanfield, and wow, I really enjoyed them. So no surprises here, just confirmation of my admiration for this French band.
Deafheaven… OK, I’ve known this band since New Bermuda (2015), and they’ve never stopped impressing me. Their latest, Lonely People with Power, ranks among my favourite albums of 2025. So I could finally see them live for the first time. My verdict? A kick in the nuts!
I thought to myself… Mastodon had better deliver, because Deafheaven absolutely knocked me over with their energy!
So, did Mastodon pull it off?
Hands down!!!
Definitely the best Mastodon show I’ve seen! From the setlist to the incredible lighting and breathtaking laser effects, they delivered a perfect show! New guitarist Nick Johnston fits in perfectly. The absence of the new keyboardist (passport issue) was made up for by Paul Bayzley (Baroness), who joined them as a third guitarist and vocalist. Seriously, what a night—it was worth the drive down Highway 20!!
Here are my photos from the show!
Cheers
