Palais Moncalm
Le Palais Moncalm est en train de devenir un château fort pour la musique prog, croyez-moi, c’est pas moi qui va s’en plaindre! Et la ville de Québec a été choyée à ce super clear pour une seule date en Amérique du Nord, The Flower Kings faisait un retour pour la première fois en presque 7 ans.
The Flower Kings, selon moi, est l’un des plus grands groupes prog actifs présentement, et l’un des plus prolifiques. C’était donc un honneur pour moi d’y assister et surtout d’avoir la chance de les photographier.
Mené à la perfection par son leader Ronnie Stolt, le band nous ont offert quelques extraits de leur plus récent et excellent album Love, en plus de quelques classiques dont Last Minute on Earth. Prestation impeccable par tous les musiciens, mais une mention doit être donnée au chanteur et guitariste Hasse Froberg, qui a secondé Stolt à la voix de façon grandiose.

Je ne peux passer à côté de l’artiste qui assurait la première partie du spectacle. Il fait partie du groupe Transatlantic avec Stolt entre autres. Neal Morse nous a réservé un spectacle acoustique à la hauteur de son talent. Racontant des anecdotes de son passé avec Spock’s Beard et de ses influences musicales.
Neal Morse représente pour moi le meilleur du prog depuis 20 ans.
Quel honneur ce fut pour moi de photographier ces grands du prog.

Palais Moncalm
Palais Moncalm is becoming a stronghold for prog music, believe me, I’m not the one who’s going to complain! And the city of Quebec was treated with this super clear for a single North American date, The Flower Kings were making a return for the first time in nearly 7 years.
The Flower Kings, in my opinion, is one of the greatest prog bands currently active, and one of the most prolific. It was therefore an honor for me to attend and especially to have the chance to photograph them.
Led to perfection by their leader Ronnie Stolt, the band offered us a few excerpts from their most recent and excellent album Love, in addition to a few classics including Last Minute on Earth. An impeccable performance by all the musicians, but special mention must be given to singer and guitarist Hasse Froberg, who supported Stolt on vocals in a grand way.
I cannot overlook the artist who handled the opening act. He is part of the band Transatlantic with Stolt, among others. Neal Morse delivered an acoustic performance worthy of his talent, sharing anecdotes from his past with Spock’s Beard and his musical influences.
Neal Morse represents, for me, the best of prog over the last 20 years.
What an honor it was for me to photograph these giants of prog.
