« Mes amis(es) québécois, je m’excuse, j’ai attrapé une grippe sur le lac America! » s’exclame M. Dickinson. J’ai ri pas à peu près! Bien sûr, le lac America est une blague, mais malgré la grippe, Bruce Dickinson a prouvé qu’il était encore capable!! Quelle soirée et quel show!!
Le Parc Jean-Drapeau, c’est toujours une expérience spéciale pour ce type de spectacle, et les métaleux étaient clairement au rendez-vous. Voir une foule aussi importante réunie pour une soirée entièrement consacrée au metal donne toujours une ambiance particulière au site.
Setlist, ai-je besoin d’en parler? On le sait tous, c’était la setlist de rêve pour tout amateur d’Iron Maiden!
Les 6 premiers albums plus Fear of the Dark… Voilà, déjà conquis.
Le band est tight, et le nouveau drummer, sans être Nicko, il fait une bonne job. L’étoile de la soirée, il a survécu à un cancer de la gorge et de la langue… c’est fou juste d’y penser. Il bouge d’un bout à l’autre de la scène, parfois même de la misère à le suivre avec ma caméra. Il a 68 ans, Bruce Dickinson! Grippé, il a su chanter comme il sait bien le faire et nous a fait vivre une soirée parfaite, l’un des meilleurs que j’ai vus d’eux assurément!!

Malheureusement, nous avons mis 5 heures à nous y rendre, donc j’ai manqué Anthrax et Megadeth. Malgré tout, Megadeth avait condensé sa prestation en seulement neuf chansons, mais avec plusieurs classiques incontournables. Le groupe a ouvert avec Tipping Point, avant d’enchaîner avec Hangar 18, Sweating Bullets, Let There Be Shred, ainsi que A Tout le Monde, jouée pour la première fois de cette tournée. La finale comprenait notamment Tornado of Souls, Peace Sells, Symphony of Destruction et Holy Wars… The Punishment Due. Bref, une courte présence, mais une sélection qui allait directement à l’essentiel.
La visite d’Anthrax est également toujours la bienvenue au Québec. La formation a proposé plusieurs incontournables de son répertoire avec Caught in a Mosh, Madhouse, Metal Thrashing Mad, Antisocial, It’s for the Kids, Got the Time et la finale habituelle Indians. Une bonne dose de thrash avant l’arrivée des deux autres géants de la soirée.
Cette visite arrive d’ailleurs à quelques jours seulement de la sortie du douzième album studio d’Anthrax, Cursum Perficio, qui paraîtra le 18 septembre 2026 via Megaforce Records.

“My Quebec friends, I’m sorry, I caught the flu on Lake America!” exclaimed Mr. Dickinson. I laughed pretty hard! Of course, Lake America was a joke, but despite the flu, Bruce Dickinson proved that he still had it!! What a night and what a show!!
Parc Jean-Drapeau is always a special experience for this kind of concert, and the metalheads definitely showed up. Seeing such a large crowd gathered for an entire evening dedicated to metal always gives the site a unique atmosphere.
Setlist, do I even need to talk about it? We all know it was a dream setlist for any Iron Maiden fan!
The first six albums plus Fear of the Dark… That was already enough to win me over.
The band is tight, and the new drummer, while he may not be Nicko, does a solid job. The star of the night, though, has survived cancer of the throat and tongue… it’s crazy just to think about it. He moves from one end of the stage to the other, sometimes making it hard for me to even keep up with him through my camera. He’s 68 years old, Bruce Dickinson! Even with the flu, he still managed to sing the way only he can and gave us a perfect night, easily one of the best shows I’ve ever seen from them!!
Unfortunately, it took us five hours to get there, so I missed Anthrax and Megadeth. Still, Megadeth managed to condense its set into just nine songs, while still packing in plenty of classics. The band opened with Tipping Point, followed by Hangar 18, Sweating Bullets, Let There Be Shred, as well as A Tout le Monde, performed for the first time on this tour. The final stretch included Tornado of Souls, Peace Sells, Symphony of Destruction and Holy Wars… The Punishment Due. In short, it was a brief appearance, but the song selection went straight to the essentials.
A visit from Anthrax is also always welcome in Quebec. The band delivered several staples from its catalogue, including Caught in a Mosh, Madhouse, Metal Thrashing Mad, Antisocial, It’s for the Kids, Got the Time, and the usual closing number, Indians. A solid dose of thrash before the arrival of the evening’s two other giants.
This visit also comes just days before the release of Anthrax’s twelfth studio album, Cursum Perficio, due out on September 18, 2026 via Megaforce Records.
