Le groupe metalcore cinématique de Québec, Polygraph, est de retour en force avec la sortie de son tout nouvel EP intitulé Nightbloom, disponible depuis le 17 octobre 2025 sur toutes les plateformes numériques.
Après avoir marqué les esprits avec The Process en 2023, le quatuor revient avec un projet ambitieux de six titres, où l’intensité et les émotions se côtoient dans une atmosphère sombre et immersive.
Un nouveau chapitre pour Polygraph
Dans un message publié sur leurs réseaux sociaux, le groupe a déclaré :
« Notre nouvel EP Nightbloom est maintenant disponible. Nous sommes tellement heureux de finalement vous présenter ce nouveau chapitre pour Polygraph avec cet EP. On y a mis tout notre cœur et notre âme, et on a bien hâte de le jouer live pour vous et de vous entendre chanter avec nous.

Un son plus lourd, plus atmosphérique
Avec Nightbloom, Polygraph pousse encore plus loin son approche cinématique et émotionnelle du metalcore. L’EP s’ouvre sur Hollow, une introduction instrumentale planante qui prépare le terrain pour une montée en puissance.
Vient ensuite Twenty-Six, où le groupe laisse de côté le chant clair pour plonger dans un déchaînement de screams et growls, appuyé par des riffs tranchants et une intensité dramatique. D’ailleurs, un playthrough complet du morceau par le guitariste Alex permet d’apprécier de plus près la complexité des riffs.
À l’opposé, Collapse offre un moment plus mélodique, rappelant l’esprit de leur précédent EP The Process (2023), où la voix claire reprend une place importante et où le rythme laisse respirer l’émotion. Ce contraste se poursuit sur See You Next Tuesday, qui marie habilement lourdeur et arrangements plus aérés, notamment grâce à la participation au saxophone d’Élodie Bernier, qui apporte une touche inattendue et envoûtante. Le EP se termine avec Strangers, où la brutalité mentionnée précédemment est de retour. C’est lourd, du growl à souhait, une batterie percutant et une ambiance toujours aussi unique.
Un équilibre entre évolution et signature sonore
Sur Nightbloom, Polygraph conserve les éléments qui ont bâti sa signature : une production léchée, des ambiances immersives et une attention particulière aux textures sonores. Toutefois, le groupe explore davantage son côté sombre et introspectif, sans perdre l’équilibre entre intensité et sensibilité.
Le résultat : un EP à la fois brutal et émotionnel, où chaque morceau dévoile une nouvelle facette de leur univers. Un excellent mélange de lourdeur, de mélodie et d’atmosphère, qui confirme que Polygraph s’impose comme l’une des formations les plus prometteuses de la scène metalcore québécoise.
Polygraph signe ici un retour percutant, plus heavy que jamais.

The cinematic metalcore band from Quebec, Polygraph, is back stronger than ever with the release of their brand-new EP titled Nightbloom, available since October 17, 2025, on all digital platforms.

A heavier and more atmospheric sound
With Nightbloom, Polygraph pushes its cinematic and emotional approach to metalcore even further. The EP opens with Hollow, a floating instrumental introduction that sets the stage for a powerful and dynamic progression.
Then comes Twenty-Six, where the band sets aside clean vocals to dive into a storm of screams and growls, driven by sharp riffs and dramatic intensity. A full playthrough video by guitarist Alex showcases the technical and rhythmic complexity behind the track.
On the other hand, Collapse delivers a more melodic and emotional moment reminiscent of The Process (2023), where clean vocals return to the forefront and the pace allows for more breathing room. The same balance is found in See You Next Tuesday, which blends heaviness with more open arrangements — highlighted by Élodie Bernier’s captivating saxophone performance, adding an unexpected and mesmerizing layer to the sound.
The EP closes with Strangers, where the previously mentioned brutality returns in full force — intense growls, pounding drums, and a uniquely immersive atmosphere that defines Polygraph’s sound.
Balance between evolution and identity
On Nightbloom, Polygraph stays true to the essence that has defined its sound: polished production, immersive atmospheres, and careful attention to texture and emotion. However, the band dives deeper into its darker and introspective side, maintaining the perfect balance between aggression and sensitivity.
