Le brutal death et l’Halloween ont toujours fait bon ménage, mettant à tous les deux l’honneur au gore et au sexe. Et les Productions Ça Bûche ont compris que l’union du sang et des célébrations autour du 31 octobre était la combinaison parfaite pour un samedi frisquet à Rouyn-Noranda.
Souvent costumés, près de 100 spectateurs se sont rassemblés au QG où la violence musicale se mêlait à une ambiance bon enfant et loin d’être sérieuse. Un T-Rex en perdition, un pénis en crise d’herpès et même Jésus ont fait de brèves apparitions lors de la soirée !
Disembalmed, le groupe de covers des illustres Partys de Pwel de Rouyn-Noranda, a commencé les hostilités. Sans chanteur ni bassiste (dont même les pistes n’étaient pas fiables !) mais avec Michael Myers à la batterie, le trio interprète des morceaux de death metal brutal des maîtres tels que Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus et d’autres morceaux plus obscurs.
DISEMBALMED
Le one-man band Colony Omicron a suivi sur les planches du QG. Né au cœur de la pandémie de Covid-19, le projet, issu des profondeurs de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue, était mené en exclusivité par Ricky Lafleur, tout droit sorti de Trailer Park Boys, et a servi un brutal slam sur un plateau particulièrement dégoulinant.
COLONY OMICRON
Art of Gore a poursuivi les hostilités, accompagné du seul et unique Capitaine 50. La performance du quatuor a tout balayé sur son passage, brutalisant un QG particulièrement danseur. Michael Myers et son fidèle couteau de chef ont même troqué leurs baguettes de batterie contre un micro le temps d’une chanson.
ART OF GORE
NecroticGoreBeast a terminé la soirée endiablée avant un prochain passage en Europe. Le groupe a d’ailleurs profité du party d’Halloween des Productions Ça Bûche pour présenter son nouvel album, BRUTE. Petite note personnelle, j’ai abandonné mon pauvre kodak au milieu du set pour aller danser !

Brutal death metal and Halloween have long been connected, both celebrating gore and sex. Productions Ça Bûche recognized that the mix of blood and festivities around October 31 was ideal for a cold Saturday in Rouyn-Noranda.
Often in costume, nearly 100 spectators gathered at the HQ, where chaotic music blended with a light-hearted and not-too-serious atmosphere. A T-Rex in distress, a penis in the throes of herpes, and even Jesus made brief appearances during the evening!
Disembalmed, the cover band of Rouyn-Noranda’s renowned Partys de Pwel, kicked things off. Without a singer or bassist (whose tracks weren’t even reliable), but with Michael Myers on drums, the trio performed brutal death metal songs by legends such as Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, and other lesser-known tracks.
The one-man band Colony Omicron then took the stage at QG. Born during the Covid-19 pandemic, the project from Abitibi-Témiscamingue was led exclusively by Ricky Lafleur, straight out of Trailer Park Boys, and delivered a fierce performance.
Art of Gore continued the hostilities, accompanied by the one and only Capitaine 50. The quartet’s performance swept everything in its path, brutalizing a particularly dance-crazy crowd. Michael Myers and his trusty chef’s knife even traded their drumsticks for a microphone for one song.
Finally, NecroticGoreBeast ended their wild evening before heading off on their upcoming European tour. The band also took the opportunity at Productions Ça Bûche’s Halloween party to debut their new album, BRUTE. On a personal note, I left my poor camera behind halfway through the set to go dancing!
