Le groupe thrash metal italien XENOS A.D., originaire d’Agrigente en Sicile, est de retour avec son troisième album Reqviem for the Oppressor, maintenant disponible depuis le 23 mai 2025 via My Kingdom Music.
Composé de Ignazio Nicastro (basse, voix), Danilo Ficicchia (batterie) et Giuseppe Taormina (guitare), le trio poursuit son ascension avec un disque encore plus incisif que ses prédécesseurs Filthgrinder (2020) et The Dawn of Ares (2021).
Critique express: Avec Reqviem for the Oppressor, XENOS A.D. propose une nouvelle offrande très intéressante. Le trio italien garde un pied bien ancré dans les racines du genre tout en y injectant une bonne dose d’influences modernes. C’est tranchant, pesant, et ça ne fait pas dans la dentelle. Les riffs coupent comme une scie à métal, la batterie est tight et agressive, et le vocal, plus heavy que rauque, donne une twist intéressante à l’ensemble.
Une belle surprise venue d’Italie. Si vous aimez les albums rapides, lourds et inspirés, Reqviem for the Oppressor mérite au moins une écoute!

The Italian trio keeps one foot firmly planted in the roots of the genre while injecting a good dose of modern influences. It’s sharp, crushing, and doesn’t hold back. The riffs slice like a metal saw, the drumming is tight and aggressive, and the vocals—leaning more toward heavy metal than typical thrash harshness—bring an interesting twist to the whole.
A great surprise from Italy. If you’re into fast, heavy, and inspired albums, Reqviem for the Oppressor definitely deserves a listen!
