Pour commencer le mois de juin, l’incontournable groupe August Burns Red est de retour avec son tout nouvel album, Season of Surrender, qui paraîtra le 5 juin 2026 sous l’étiquette Fearless Records. Pour leur dixième opus en carrière, le groupe de metalcore propose une expérience sonore à la fois intense et réfléchie. Avec des titres comme Legions en collaboration avec Mike Hranica de The Devil Wears Prada et Behemoth, l’album promet de marquer un nouveau chapitre dans la discographie déjà impressionnante du quintette.
Pour lancer cette expérience, Legions donne immédiatement le ton de l’album. Violente dès les premières notes, la pièce enchaîne blast beat, growls et sans oublier la touche de Mike qui pousse le morceau encore plus loin dans l’intensité. Une chanson qui risque fort de devenir l’une des préférées du public.
Parmi les morceaux déjà dévoilés, on retrouve également The Nameless, Behemoth et Sonic Salvation (ft. Jamie Hails), trois excellentes pistes qui maintiennent parfaitement l’ambiance lourde et agressive du nouvel album.
Du côté des morceaux à paraître le 5 juin, Den of Thieves figure déjà dans mon top 3, avec Legions et Cerebral Malfunction.
Pour offrir une courte pause à travers ce déferlement d’intensité, le groupe nous offre Tear of the Clouds, une pièce mélodique de 42 secondes qui prépare l’arrivée de Whispers Like Splinters, une chanson aussi émotive qu’efficace, qui risque de faire headbanger plus d’un auditeur.
Chapeau à August Burns Red pour cette nouvelle sortie de onze chansons, qui prouve que le groupe n’a rien perdu de la flamme qui les anime depuis toutes ces années. Pour les fans du groupe, cet album est définitivement à ne pas manquer.

To kick off the month of May, the unstoppable August Burns Red return with their brand-new album, Season of Surrender, set for release on June 5, 2026, via Fearless Records. For their tenth studio album, the metalcore veterans deliver a listening experience that is both intense and thoughtful. With tracks such as Legions, featuring Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, and Behemoth, the album promises to mark a new chapter in the already impressive discography of the quintet.
Opening the experience, Legions immediately sets the tone for the album. Violent from the very first notes, the song unleashes blast beats, growls, and Mike’s contribution, which pushes the track even further into intense territory. This is a song that could easily become a fan favorite.
Among the tracks already released, The Nameless, Behemoth, and Sonic Salvation (ft. Jamie Hails) stand out as three excellent songs that perfectly maintain the heavy and aggressive atmosphere of the new album.
As for the tracks arriving on June 5, Den of Thieves already ranks in my top three, alongside Legions and Cerebral Malfunction.
To provide a brief respite amid this onslaught of intensity, the band offers Tear of the Clouds, a 42-second melodic piece that sets the stage for Whispers Like Splinters, a song that is both emotional and effective, and one that is likely to get more than a few listeners headbanging.
Hats off to August Burns Red for this new eleven-song release, which proves that the band has lost none of the passion that has driven them throughout the years. For fans of the band, this album is definitely not to be missed.
