CARNIVAL OF DEATH TOUR
Un rendez-vous death metal réussi
Avec des noms comme VADER et KATAKLYSM en tête d’affiche, tu es pas mal assuré d’une soirée explosive. Ajoute MALEVOLENT CREATION et SKELETAL REMAINS, et ça te donne le Carnival of Death 2025.
Je ne passerai pas par quatre chemins : VADER, ça torche encore, c’est fou ! À presque 60 ans, Piotr Wiwczarek est une bête de scène. Leur performance d’hier était, selon moi, la meilleure que j’ai vue d’eux. Ce sont de vrais passionnés, et ça paraît. Ils profitent de cette tournée pour célébrer les 25 ans de Litany — quoi demander de plus ? Un pur classique !
VADER
KATAKLYSM, un autre groupe que j’ai la chance de voir souvent, livre encore une performance solide. Maurizio Iacono est toujours aussi efficace derrière le micro, appuyé par l’éternel Jean-François Dagenais. Le groupe affiche une formation stable depuis 2020, et ça se ressent. Mention spéciale à James Payne : quel batteur !
KATAKLYSM
MALEVOLENT CREATION, malgré l’absence de Phil Fasciana, a offert une excellente prestation. Sans aucun nouvel album depuis 2019, le groupe s’est surtout concentré sur ses premiers albums, pour le plus grand bonheur des fans de la vieille école.
MALEVOLENT CREATION
Même constat pour SKELETAL REMAINS, qui a brillamment lancé cette soirée death metal. Ces derniers en ont profité pour promouvoir leur plus récent album, Fragments of the Ageless, sorti l’an dernier via Century Media.
Encore une fois, un immense merci à District 7 Production pour garder la scène métal si vivante à Québec ! Toujours un plaisir de revoir les vrais tripeux de métal réunis au même endroit.

A Death Metal Gathering Done Right
With names like VADER and KATAKLYSM headlining, you’re pretty much guaranteed an explosive night. Add MALEVOLENT CREATION and SKELETAL REMAINS to the mix, and you’ve got the Carnival of Death 2025.
Let’s not beat around the bush — VADER still absolutely rips! At nearly 60 years old, Piotr Wiwczarek remains a total beast on stage. Their performance last night was, in my opinion, the best I’ve ever seen from them. These guys are true veterans driven by passion, and it shows. They’re using this tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Litany — what more could you ask for? A total classic!
KATAKLYSM, another band I’ve had the chance to see many times, once again delivered a rock-solid performance. Maurizio Iacono was his usual commanding self behind the mic, supported by the ever-reliable Jean-François Dagenais. The band’s lineup has remained consistent since 2020, and you can tell. Special mention to James Payne — what a drummer!
MALEVOLENT CREATION, despite the absence of Phil Fasciana, put on an excellent show. With no new album since 2019, the band mainly focused on their early material, much to the delight of old-school fans. SKELETAL REMAINS also kicked off the evening with a killer set, taking the opportunity to promote their latest release, Fragments of the Ageless, which came out last year via Century Media.
Once again, huge thanks to District 7 Production for keeping the metal scene so alive and well in Québec! It’s always great to see the metalheads gathering under one roof for a night like this.
