Le 19 septembre dernier, le Petit Campus de Montréal a accueilli une soirée musicale axée sur le métal, mettant en vedette trois groupes québécois. L’événement, présenté par Kaboom Management, a rassemblé une foule presque comble, témoignant de l’engouement du public pour les formations invitées.
La soirée s’est ouverte avec Change My Brain With Cakes, un groupe originaire de Québec. Leur prestation fut une agréable découverte. Costumes, maquillage et effets spéciaux inspirés de l’horreur, combinés à des mises en scène travaillées, ont contribué à créer une ambiance singulière. Leur musique, mélange de punk, de hardcore, de metalcore et d’électro, propose un son à la fois violent et distinctif, reflétant l’énergie partagée entre le groupe et le public.
CHANGE MY BRAIN WITH CAKES
Après une courte pause, Hopeful Sixteen, également issu de la capitale nationale, est monté sur scène. Leur musique instrumentale agressive, contrastée par un chant doux et puissant, a rapidement captivé l’audience. Leurs compositions pop/métalcore, portées par des riffs accrocheurs et des rythmes soutenus, ont transporté la foule.
HOPEFUL SIXTEEN
Pour clore la soirée, Kaboom Management avait réservé une place de choix à Uriel, formation montréalaise réputée pour sa présence scénique. Entre batterie percutante, guitares rapides et chant guttural du bassiste, la voix angélique de la chanteuse a su charmer l’audience. L’ajout de violons a apporté un équilibre sonore marquant, enrichissant encore davantage la prestation.

On September 19, Petit Campus in Montreal hosted a metal-focused evening featuring three Quebec bands. The event, presented by Kaboom Management, drew an almost full house, reflecting the public’s enthusiasm for the invited acts.
The night opened with Change My Brain With Cakes, a band from Quebec City. Their performance was a pleasant surprise. Costumes, makeup, and horror-inspired special effects, combined with theatrical staging, created a unique atmosphere. Their music, a blend of punk, hardcore, metalcore, and electro, delivered a sound both violent and distinctive, echoing the energy shared between the band and the audience.
After a short break, Hopeful Sixteen, also from the provincial capital, took the stage. Their aggressive instrumental style, contrasted with soft yet powerful vocals, quickly captivated the crowd. Their pop/metalcore compositions, built on catchy riffs and driving rhythms, carried the audience throughout their set.
To close the evening, Kaboom Management gave the spotlight to Uriel, a Montreal-based band renowned for their stage presence. With pounding drums, fast guitar work, and the bassist’s guttural vocals, the angelic voice of the lead singer enchanted the audience. The addition of violins created a striking sonic balance, further enhancing the performance.
