VOLA : Prestation parfaite
VOLA
C’était un choix déchirant et plutôt rare à Québec: deux excellents spectacles présentés le même soir. D’un côté, Be’lakor au Capitole, et de l’autre, celui que j’ai finalement choisi d’aller voir, Vola. Aucun regret, même si j’aurais probablement affirmé la même chose en sortant du Capitole. Vola en spectacle, c’est tout simplement magique et complet. L’ascension du prog metal et le mélange des styles permettent d’ajouter Vola à la liste des plus grands du genre. Leur son est à la fois massif et somptueux, leur voix puissante et douce, et l’éclairage parfaitement dramatique.

THE ANCHORET
Le groupe de prog metal québécois The Anchoret, que j’ai déjà eu l’occasion de voir au Progstorm 2025, représentait l’autre raison importante de mon choix pour cette soirée. Quel groupe incroyable en spectacle. Vous devez absolument découvrir cette formation si ce n’est pas déjà fait. Ils n’ont qu’un seul album pour l’instant, mais sur scène, ils vous font vivre toute une gamme d’émotions. L’énergie du metal, combinée à l’intensité envoûtante des passages progressifs et rehaussée par d’excellents segments de saxophone, fait de ce groupe une formation à surveiller. Vous devez les voir en concert.

DAEDRIC
Juste avant Vola, j’ai fait une découverte des plus intéressantes avec Daedric. Le groupe a attiré la curiosité de plusieurs grâce à sa musique alternant entre l’alternatif et le metal, inspirée par l’univers du jeu Elder Scrolls. Le tout est porté par l’excellente chanteuse et artiste Kristyn Hope, qui mène la formation avec brio. Voici donc mes images de cette soirée, signée District7Prod.

It was a tough choice, something that doesn’t happen often in Quebec: two excellent shows on the same night. On one side, Be’lakor at the Capitole, and on the other, the one I ultimately chose to attend, Vola. No regrets, even though I probably would have said the same thing had I gone to the Capitole. Seeing Vola live is simply magical and complete. The rise of prog metal and the blending of styles easily place Vola among the greats of the genre. Their sound is both massive and sumptuous, their vocals powerful yet gentle, and the lighting perfectly dramatic.
THE ANCHORET
The Quebec prog metal band The Anchoret, whom I had the chance to see at Progstorm 2025, was the other major reason for my choice that night. What an incredible band live. You absolutely need to discover this group if you haven’t already. They only have one album so far, but on stage, they take you through a wide range of emotions. The energy of metal combined with the captivating intensity of progressive passages, enhanced by excellent saxophone sections, makes this a band to watch. You need to see them live.
DAEDRIC
Right before Vola, I made a very interesting discovery with Daedric. The band drew the curiosity of many with a sound that blends alternative and metal influences, inspired by the Elder Scrolls video game universe. Everything is driven by the excellent singer and artist Kristyn Hope, who leads the group with confidence and talent. Here are my photos from the evening, courtesy of District7Prod.
